Annual
SV Road Walk
2026
Would you like to walk one of Mumbai’s most important urban roads while advocating for safer, more inclusive streets?
Join us for the Annual S.V. Road Walk 2026 on Sunday, 11 January, as citizens come together to highlight the urgent need for better pedestrian infrastructure in Mumbai. This year, we are going all the way—walking the entire length of S.V. Road, Mumbai’s longest arterial road.
Participants will begin from two ends of the road—northbound from Lucky Restaurant, Bandra, and southbound from Borivali Station—and walk towards a common meeting point at a park in Oshiwara, with multiple pit stops along the way. You are welcome to join for the full walk or a shorter stretch, depending on your location and comfort.

Why S.V Road?
Every year around Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, we reflect on his ideals of humanism and selfless service. Ironically, S.V. Road—named in his honour—remains unsafe and inaccessible for pedestrians. The Annual S.V. Road Walk aims to build public momentum for improving walkability on this crucial corridor and across the city.
What to Expect?
Walk with fellow walkability advocates and concerned citizens
Observe on-ground pedestrian conditions with walk leaders
Use banners and flyers to raise awareness
Share ideas and discuss solutions for improving walkability along S.V. Road
Document issues through photographs and observations
Objectives
The walk seeks to emphasise the urgent need to implement existing Indian footpath design standards and develop actionable recommendations to improve walkability on S.V. Road—setting a benchmark for pedestrian-friendly streets in Mumbai and beyond.
Register using the form to confirm your participation and join us in working towards a safer, more walkable Mumbai.
