The Annual S.V. Road Walk is a Walking Project-led initiative aimed at raising awareness and advocating for a safer, more pedestrian-friendly environment along one of Mumbai's most vital urban roads. Held every year on January 12th, the birth anniversary of Shri. Swami Vivekananda. the walk brings together Mumbaikars to reflect on the need for better walking infrastructure and to honour the values of Swami Vivekananda, whose legacy of humanism and selfless service is contradicted by the poor pedestrian conditions on S.V. Road.
Despite being one of the busiest roads in Mumbai, S.V. Road lacks adequate footpaths, safe crossings, and proper infrastructure for pedestrians. This event seeks to highlight these challenges and rally citizens to demand a safer, more accessible walking experience that reflects the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
